Singapore Biennale 2019 at SMU de Suantio Gallery
Singapore Management University School of Economics / School of Social Sciences
90 Stamford Road
The de Suantio Gallery, a 180-square-metre space located on Level 1 of the SMU School of Economics and School of Social Sciences Building, was named after the Suantio family, in recognition of a gift made by Dr Della Suantio Lee and D.S. Lee Foundation.
Dr Della Suantio Lee’s gift has gone towards the establishing of scholarships, bursaries, fellowships and arts inspiration grants at SMU. To support student excellence in the arts, the D.S. Lee Foundation Inspiration Grant for the Arts was set up at SMU to nurture artistic talents, particularly in SMU’s performing arts groups, and celebrate artistic richness within the University campus.
The de Suantio Gallery was officially launched on 8 November 2012 by Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, who was then Singapore’s President, and now Honorary Patron and Distinguished Senior Fellow at SMU.
