As part of a larger community building program, the Singapore Biennale established a series of public platforms called Encounters. The Encounters Series comprises of 'get-together' sessions in Singapore or at international arts events for interaction between the interested public, the arts communities and the Singapore Biennale curatorial team. The sessions also serve as feedback mechanisms for the Biennale as it is being organised, developing a sense of ownership from various segments of the local community for this large scale event.
