Come and be a part of Singapore's inaugural international biennale of contemporary art! Featuring more than 90 artists and artist collectives from over 35 countries including Singapore, the Singapore Biennale 2006 (SB2006) will be the first significant cultural event to bring contemporary visual art practices into the daily lives of Singaporeans. This is a unique and valuable opportunity for you to experience interacting with the public, gain insights into the artists' processes in creating their work and learn about the operations of Singapore largest contemporary visual art exhibition.

To help run the upcoming Biennale, some 600 volunteers are needed to work behind-the-scenes and help the public engage with the range of contemporary art being presented. We are seeking people from all walks of life, willing to bring their own unique talents, experiences and knowledge to this significant milestone in the rich history of Singapore's visual arts development.

You could be an Exhibition Tour Guide, Artist Assistant, Artist Liaison Officer, Exhibition Site Officer Customer Relations Officer, Ticketing Officer Assistant, Event Assistant, Administrative Officer, Public Outreach Programme Officer or a Volunteer Centre Officer, as the Volunteer Programme offers a wide array of roles, including functions in Event Management, Hospitality, Administration, Education and Public Outreach, Logistics, Programming, Concierge and Customer Relations. Experience aside, we hope to enlist individuals with enthusiasm, passion, dedication and professionalism, who will help enhance the fervour of this monumental event.

Much work is involved in managing a volunteer pool of this magnitude. The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NPVC), is the working partner for the Programme. NVPC is developing a volunteer management system to organise volunteers in a professional and efficient manner. It will assist in areas such as infrastructure development, establishment of support facilities and work processes for volunteer recruitment, selection, placement, orientation and training, performance review and recognition. NVPC will also provide training for the volunteer managers and supervisors in volunteer management principles.
